"LOVE FIRST"
Kay Boyd-Rowe courageously battled cancer for nearly 23 years but never let the disease define her or stop her. Every day, the words "LOVE FIRST"
guided her every step.
A Story of Love.
For more than 20 years, Kay Boyd-Rowe and her husband Robin traveled to Hillman Cancer Center for her appointments, treatments, scans, and tests. On one of those trips, upon retrieving their car from the parking garage, they were told that their parking fees were paid by a local business who donated the parking fees for everyone coming to Hillman Cancer Center that day. Both Robin & Kay were very touched by this gesture. On their ride home, Kay commented, “I would love to do this one day.”
A Story of Hope.
On May 12, 2023, Kay passed away, but her legacy to love first lives on. To honor Kay’s wish, the “Kay Days Fund” has been established at Hillman Cancer Center every year on or around her birthday, June 23rd. On the designated “Kay Days”, all parking fees are paid for all patients using the Hillman Cancer Center parking garage. As this non-profit organization continues to grow, we are now able to provide multiple days of free parking on scheduled “Kay Day’s” at Hillman Cancer Center each year.
